Souq Al Jubail is one of the largest market for fresh produce in the Sharjah emirate. I was the first facility and asset management head of the market, designed as a state-of-the-art facility, with responsibilities for facility opening, FM and asset management establishment, technology integration, service ecosystem onboarding and stabilization and establishing global standards for operations and reporting.

At Idama, I led the Facility Management division overseeing the delivery of all FM services, including engineering management and soft services, for a portfolio of enterprise customers across the UAE. This role encompassed general business management and business development, service delivery structuring & management, client relationship management, reporting and other related aspects. 

Senior Director Operations - Burj Khalifa, Emaar Properties
July 2009 - August 2010
As the first Operations Director of Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, I was responsible for takeover from the construction closeout stage, phased launch of facility services, setting the FM delivery culture, mobilizing the facility management ecosystem (including in-house teams and service providers) and getting the facility ready for occupation across all uses - residential, commercial, leisure and retail. This assignment is where I led the conceptualization and establishment of a number of initiatives, including Project Birth Certificate approach, which are today becoming industry best practice. This was also the assignment where I developed a specialization in FM for tall buildings.

As head of operations for Imdaad, I oversaw the delivery of complex service ecosystems for a diverse range of customers. My role included operational solution development, overseeing mobilization of service contracts (including setting service standards, KPIs and SLAs), managing client relationships across a wide portfolio and driving a team of 2000+ FM professionals in the delivery of services. The anchor contract to manage facility services and support asset management operations for Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone as part of this assignment helped me start on the journey of specialization in FM for megaprojects.

du was newly launched as a telecom service provider in the UAE in 2006 when I assumed a role in the FM division, working as part of the team delivering facilities and infrastructure services across a geographically widespread portfolio.

In this assignment where I kickstarted my career, I was involved in building a culture of health, safety and environmental focus for a team of 7000+ staff across the UAE, driven by a complex communications program.

I am an engineer by training, with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo, USA. My educational background also includes specialist management qualifications - including an MBA from the American University of Sharjah and a mini MBA in organizational leadership from INSEAD.  

I was also selected for the Dubai Government leadership program in organizational leadership from The Wharton School. This 18-month academic and practical leadership program included a visit to The Wharton School of Business in the USA, and to government organizations in Singapore and Honk Kong. This program provided global exposure and I was part of the group which was awarded top team status for a research paper on sustainability & sustainable mall design.
